Worker Safety (Protection Of Employees)

Overview

The provision of a safe working environment, safe equipment, rules, and procedures to safeguard workers' health and safety is referred to as worker safety (also known as worker safety and occupational health and safety). Workplace safety has been one of many employers' top issues in 2020.

An  IH's purpose is to keep workers, their families, and the community safe and healthy. They are critical in ensuring that federal, state, and local laws and regulations are adhered to in the workplace. According to the AIHA, an industrial hygienist's regular responsibilities include:

Investigating and inspecting the workplace for potential hazards and dangers

Making recommendations for enhancing the safety of workers and the community

Conducting a scientific study to gather information about potentially hazardous employment situations

Developing methods for predicting and controlling potentially risky situations in the workplace and in the community

Community education and training on workplace hazards

Providing advice to government authorities and taking part in the formulation of regulations to protect employees' health and safety.

Safety Hazards :

Anything that could spill or cause a trip, such as cords running across the floor or ice

Working from a height, such as ladders, scaffolds, roofs, or any other elevated work environment, can cause falls.

Unprotected machinery and moving machinery elements that a worker may come into contact with

Frayed cords, missing ground pins, and faulty wiring are all electrical risks.
